No matter where we live in the world, we all navigate the demands of work, family and our environment on a daily basis. One of the simplest and greatest gifts that the 5000 year old science of Ayurveda offers an invitation to look closely at our daily routine. In Ayurveda, daily routines are called dinacharya which translates as ‘Dina’ meaning day or flow and ‘charya’, practices.
This week is Mental Health Awareness Week and according to the UK Mental Health Foundation, this year’s focus is on stress:
“Research has shown that two thirds of us experience a mental health problem in our lifetimes, and stress is a key factor in this. By tackling stress, we can go a long way to tackle mental health problems such as anxiety and depression, and, in some instances, self-harm and suicide.”
Springtime is asparagus season in Mallorca. One of my favourite sayings is, “What grows together goes together” and I find that to be true with what is being harvested right now on the island. What better way to enjoy asparagus than with other seasonal produce? Hungry? Read on!
